Breastfeeding Support

Breastfeeding is a rewarding  journey for the entire family.  Whether you decide to breastfeed for one month or one year there are numerous benefits for both mom and baby.   Breastmilk contains all the nutrients required for a newborn to grow at their fullest potential.  Infants are to be breastfed within one hour of birth and exclusively breastfed for the first 6 months before introducing any solids.  Every drop truly does count!

Sekesa Berry has extensive experience supporting families with breastfeeding. Initiated by her personal breastfeeding experience with her four children and cultivated as a WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor. Sekesa was motivated by her work and passion for supporting families and continued her education becomeing a Certified Lactation Counselor. "After consulting and meeting with more than four lactation consultants to try to successfully nurse my newborn, I was feeling defeated. As a last resort, I spoke with Sekesa, who assured and reassured me that I could indeed exclusively breastfeed. She gave me lots of strategies to increase my milk supply. She was confident in areas in which I was not. After a few days, her strategies worked! My milk supply increased, my baby was content at the breast and I could stop supplementing. I'm so happy with her services!".......Naima Abdal-Khallaq
